The Ballroom of this Wacker Drive hotel in downtown Chicago was entered through a dismal parking garage below ground level. The Olds Masters were solicited to design and paint onsite an “Italian Terrace Garden at Night” on the random surface of concrete block and heating ductwork. Painted rose treillage and formal gardens with statuary along with cobblestone paving and lighting grid transformed the space.
