Building, New York, NY Conservation of ceiling murals by Edward Trumbull
in lobby. One of the largest murals in the world, poultices were used
to remove discolored varnish over the entire surface. There was extensive
inpainting involved in repairing damaged areas which had to match variation
in styles throughout mural. Also aluminum leaf was applied with a top
coat of dragon's blood tinted shellac on moldings.
